ABOUT US

Dutch Creek Guest Ranch is a family owned and operated guest ranch providing lodging, dining, and area related activities.  The goal of the owners (Jon and Wanda Hawes) and all employees at Dutch Creek Guest Ranch is for all guests to enjoy there stay/visit. To this end we are mindful of what we are and what we are not.  Dutch Creek strives to create an environment that provides relief from the distractions and demand of “modern” life.  All of our cabins have either fireplaces or wood burning stoves—they do not have televisions.  What we can provide to a guest’s experience are:

  • Gorgeous mountain vistas.
  • A relaxed pace of life.
  • Plenty of western history, culture, and experiences.
  • An opportunity to share quality time with loved one.
  • Excellent dining.
  • Open skies with unbelievable star gazing.
  • Countless recreational activities:
    • On the ranch itself.
    • Across the road at Steamboat Lake Park.
    • In the surrounding Routt National Forest.
    • In historic north Routt County and Hahn’s Peak Village.

We are located 27 miles north of Steamboat Springs, Colorado.   We are 170 miles from Denver.  We are 10 miles from Clark, Colorado.   We are 17 miles south of the Wyoming border.  We are 12 miles west of the Continental Divide.  We are at an elevation of 8,200 feet.

Our 100 acre guest ranch is bordered by Steamboat Lake State Park to the south and east, two separate 200 acre parcels of private land held in natural conservancy to the east and west, and Routt National Forest to the north.

We are surrounded by hundreds of thousands of acres of public land.  Fifty percent of the land in Routt County is publicly owned.
