To the north of the ranch is Elk Mountain and to the south is the Elk River.  As these landmark names indicate, we have a lot of big game in the area.  Dutch Creek Guest Ranch is located in hunting zone 214.  National forest land for this zone starts at the rear property line of the ranch.  We are very close to hunting zone 5 and 14.  To get to either of these zones requires a short drive from the ranch to many trail heads leading into these zones.  Zone 5 currently has unlimited, over-the-counter Elk Bull licenses.

If you expect to get your game in this area, expect to walk for it.  Much of the surrounding area is designated as primitive area or wilderness.  Motor vehicle traffic is not permitted in these areas.  Consequently, much of the hunting territory and game is remote.
